The best natural shaving soap bar offers a smooth, clean shave while moisturizing and protecting your skin.
We’ve all been there.
Trudging through our daily shave, wincing with every stroke. Sometimes that means you have a dull blade, but more often that not, it means you’re not using the right product.
At Era Organics, we don’t think shaving should be a grin and bear it situation. We think shaving should be natural, enjoyable and pull double duty - not just removing hair, but hydrating the skin beneath.
That’s why we created our Moisturizing Natural Shave Soap Bar.
I know what you’re thinking:
“Bar soap? I’m used to squirting cream from a can.” How can a bar measure up?
The secret is in its handpicked ingredients and careful crafting, which we’ll take a closer look at in the next section.
Our natural lineup lets you shave as close to the skin as possible without harming it. That means no post-shave razor burn, breakouts, or irritation.
On top of that, our mindful recipe has been shown to:
- Fight bacteria
- Prevent acne
- Open clogged pores
- Strengthen skin
- Get rid of dead skin cells
- Reduce inflammation
So our shave soap goes a step beyond simple lubrication, which is what most shave creams and gels provide. Sure, it softens hair and paves the way for a gentle glide, but it also leaves your skin stronger, smoother, and better protected than before.
Plus, it offers a refreshing, neutral scent that both men and women can enjoy.
Our shaving soap does what all the other guys do and then some. However, our ingredients are carefully sourced from nature - not chemically pieced together in a lab.
Take a look:
- Burdock Root
A distant cousin to dandelions, burdock root is packed with antioxidants like quercetin, luteolin, and phenolic acids. However, its nourishing nutrients don’t stop there as it’s also a rich source of minerals such as magnesium, zinc, iron, and more.
For medicinal use, burdock has been used for centuries as a potent blood detoxifier. It’s also loved for its ability to improve blood circulation. Its nutritional profile, detoxifying properties, and circulation-boosting effects make it a key player in smooth, healthy skin.
For these reasons, it has been used successfully to treat and soothe conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
- Palm Oil
Palm oil is an excellent source of vitamins A and E - both of which support healthy skin. Besides these vitamins, it also offers antioxidants and saturated fats that are deeply moisturizing while also protecting against free radical-induced damage.
Its saturated fat content also works to restore the skin’s natural oils, leaving skin soft and supple.
- Ginger Root Extract
Ginger is great in the kitchen, but its benefits go well beyond taste. Thanks to active compounds like gingerol and shogaol, ginger is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It’s even been shown to fight bacteria (especially the kind that causes acne) and bolster immune function.
Moreover, many skin conditions are caused by yeast, whether in the gut or on the skin. Ginger has powerful antifungal properties. In fact, one 2003 study researched 29 plant species with anti-yeast properties, and ginger was proven to be most effective.
Some research in 2009 even revealed its benefit in wound healing, showing that ginger boosted collagen production and improved skin structure.
- Olive Oil
Acting as an antioxidant, olive oil works to prevent oxidation, which leads to damaged cells, which then leads to early signs of aging. It also contains fat-soluble vitamins A, E, and K that nourish skin from the inside out.
Full of lipids, olive oil is also naturally moisturizing without clogging pores. It even helps improve elasticity for smoother, more supple skin.
- White Oak Bark Extract
A hardwood tree native to North America, white oak is rich in tannins - the astringent compounds found in wine and tea. Thanks to those tannins, white oak bark gently constricts body tissues, minimizing pores and reducing the chance of them getting clogged.
It also has potent antiseptic properties that fight infection, kill germs, and aid in wound healing.
- Lemongrass Essential Oil
We chose lemongrass for both its scent and range of beneficial properties, including anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antimicrobial, and more. It’s even been shown to kill staph and yeast, and its antiseptic ability is helpful in sterilizing pores and preventing infection.
Like white oak, it also acts as an astringent, lending skin a firm look and even glow. In aromatherapy, lemongrass has a calming, soothing effect that relieves tension and anxiety.
Are you familiar with the extra foamy lather associated with most shave creams? Do you know how that effect is achieved? With toxic chemicals called sulfates. They might be listed on labels as:
- Sodium laureth sulfate
- Sodium lauryl sulfate
- Ammonium lauryl sulfate
- Or simply abbreviated SLES or SLS
Unfortunately, sulfates are associated with dermatitis, dry skin, rashes, and more.
Another common ingredient in shaving creams and gels is triethanolamine, which is a toxic (and carcinogenic) mix of ethylene oxide and aqueous ammonia. Shockingly enough, this ingredient is classified as a schedule 3 substance as it is used to make mustard gas (aka chemical warfare).
If that wasn’t bad enough, isopentane is just as common and is used as a solvent to help everything mix together well. The problem? It is linked to headaches, dizziness, throat irritation, and more.
The overarching problem with all these toxins is that skin is your body’s largest organ. As such, it readily absorbs whatever is put on it.
In the case of shaving, it’s even worse. Think about it:
You’re washing in warm water, which opens pores, which paves the way for ingredients on your skin’s surface to seep deeper into it. Then when you shave, you remove a layer of dead skin cells, revealing fresh (and extra vulnerable) skin beneath.
That’s just one of the reasons we were mindful of ingredients used in Era Organics Shaving Soap. Instead of foaming agents, we used olive oil. Instead of artificial fragrances, we used essential oils, and the list goes on.
Shaving is a necessary part of life, so shouldn’t you make it as enjoyable and beneficial as possible? Take the opportunity to nourish and protect your skin in the process with a more gentle moisturizer like our shave soap bar.
It’s free from toxins, sulfates, parabens, and all the other harmful chemicals you’ll find lurking in most other shaving products.
Whether male or female, hardy or sensitive skin, prone to razor burn or ingrown hairs, this bar soap is for you!
