Acne tends to start developing a few weeks before you start to see (and feel) blemishes popping up on your skin.
Typically, the condition develops when oil and dirt become trapped in the pores on your face.
This can be caused by an overproduction of oil, or sebum, as well as a build-up of bacteria.
Acne can take the form of whiteheads or blackheads, known as comedones.
Lifestyle habits, such as smoking and diet, can also contribute to the development of acne.
Stress, hormonal imbalances, and genetics are factors that can make you more prone to the condition too.

A lot of skincare routines can have you spending a whole lot of time and money for minimal results.
I wanted a routine that would clear my skin while keeping things as simple as possible.
Here are my results after one week of using a very easy beauty routine every day with only Era Organics products.
As you can see, my skin tone evened out, bumps went down, my pores are clearer and blemishes all but disappeared.
Pretty miraculous for just one week of a simple routine!
Try this 4-step routine to see if you notice a difference after using it for one week.
If not, give it another week or so. It can take 2 to 4 weeks for your skin to fully renew.
Step 1: Keep Your Face Clean
There are many things you can do to help fight acne, but washing your face morning and night is an important one for keeping your skin clear.
Religiously washing your face removes excess oil, dirt, and dead skin as well as what isn’t so obvious - the amount of pollution and environmental gunk that is sitting on your face as you read this.
It is also important to use a botanical makeup remover. Not doing so can lead to inflammation that creates free radicals. This can cause premature aging.
Dr. Robins Ashinoff, Director of Cosmetic Dermatology at Hackersack Medical Center, says “When makeup is left on, it blocks the natural exfoliating process, which can leave your skin looking dull.”
Step 2: Exfoliate Regularly
The next important step in keeping your skin clear is exfoliating 2-3 times a week.
Step 3: Moisturize
You have to moisturize regularly. I’ll say it again because it’s so important, “Moisturize!”
ooking young into your later years.
Step 4: Adjust Your Diet
Your diet is key to removing toxins.
Make sure you’re eating plenty of leafy greens and antioxidant-rich foods.
Cut back on wheat, sugar, and dairy as these all lead to oily skin. Finally, and most importantly, drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.
You’d be surprised how much skin damage is caused by diet.
Keeping your skin free from toxins and chemicals is key to looking young into your later years.
Pretty simple right? My skin is looking and feeling better after just 1 week on this regimen.
Not only is it helping me look my best right now, but in the long run, it's saving my skin from unnecessary lines and wrinkles.
I thought I had pretty good results by just washing my face at night, but seeing the difference between back when I had no regime and now, I will never go back.
